For each person, September means something different. Back-to-school season is associated with the ninth month of the year among teachers, students, and proud *basic* people who get overly excited about everything pumpkin spice. The beginning of September, however, only has one thing on the minds of fashionistas: New York Fashion Week and, in a broader sense, Fashion Month.
ICYDK, runway shows and presentations are held twice a year in February and September as part of Fashion Month. Designers traditionally present their Spring-Summer (SS) collections for the next year at September Fashion Month, while the upcoming Autumn-Winter (AW) season’s trends are teased during February Fashion Month. Naturally, not all brands present at this time, and a few designers opt to forego this predetermined plan. Additionally, there are Bridal Market Weeks, Swim Weeks, and Couture Fashion Weeks held all around the world, so someone is always walking down a catwalk wearing something stunning.

We know that this September will bring new, exciting iterations of the wardrobe essentials we love, which we’ll undoubtedly want to add to our wardrobes as soon as possible, even though some trends do cross over from one season to the next (for example, plaid is popular every fall and florals are a given for spring).
Even while not every company is listed on the CFDA’s official schedule for NYFW, we’re breaking down the information on the shows that we are aware of so that you can keep track of who is presenting when. Sadly, tickets are needed for admittance in person, but anyone who wants to watch a live broadcast of a show or view highlights as soon as they’re released can do so by visiting a label’s social media pages or website at the planned date and time.
Something to Keep an Eye Out For:

Fendi will have a unique presentation in NYC to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Fendi Baguette bag, even though the fashion business typically presents in Milan.
Something to Keep an Eye Out For:

Another company moving from Milan to NYC is Marni. On this day, you’ll also want to keep an eye out for brands that excel at what they do: PatBO for creative cutouts, Prabal Gurung for fashion- and culture-forward statements, and Sergio Hudson for sharp suits.
Something to Keep an Eye Out For:

Designs like the billowing Carolina Herrera gowns or the glossy, translucent LaQuan Smith dresses are almost painful to look at. You might want to take a break from watching the runway later on in the day to take in the fashion at the Emmys, which are taking place at the same time.
